Princess Margaret, daughter of George VI

Margaret Rose was the second daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother). She was born at Glamis Castle in Scotland on 21st August 1930. She supported many children's charities and the St John Ambulance Association and had a great interest in ballet, art and the theatre.

Marriage

On 6th May 1960 Princess Margaret married Antony Armstrong-Jones (later Earl of Snowdon) in Westminster Abbey. The couple had two children, David, Viscount Linley and Lady Sarah (Chatto), but later divorced. Lord Snowdon died in January 2017 and a memorial service was held for him at St Margaret's Westminster.

Burial

She died a few months before her mother on 9th February 2002. The funeral and burial was at Windsor, with a memorial service held in the Abbey on 19th April.
