Ann Jett

Ann Jett was buried at the west end of the north cloister of Westminster Abbey on 29th April 1721 but she has no marker. She was the daughter of William Lowndes of Winslow in Buckinghamshire and his second wife Jane, who was buried on 10th July 1685 - her father was Simon Hopper, an officer at the Exchequer, and his wife Anne Hopper was buried in the north cloister on 29th August 1709. (Lowndes was for nearly 30 years Secretary to the Treasury and a Member of Parliament and married four times - sons William and Charles were also at the Treasury).

Anne, born 1st September 1684, married Thomas Jett at St Bride's church in London on 10th June 1703. Thomas was of Gray's Inn and one of the Auditors of the Exchequer (buried at St Margaret's Westminster on 6th July 1730) Their daughter Jane died unmarried aged 53 and was buried on 8th April 1758.
