Thomas Becker
Colonel Thomas Becker was buried in St Margaret's Church Westminster on 27th April 1716. The burial register entry records:
He was famous for walking under water, he proposed to go from Manchester Court stairs to Blackfriars and had done but the guard on his head hit against the keel of a lighter or barge. He after for the King's satisfaction walked across the Thames for which he had a good reward
There is no monument or marker for him in the church.
